EthernetPlus
The Teknovus EthernetPlus chipset is used to carry constant bit rate traffic over Ethernet. The EthernetPlus solution allows for transport of multiple services over a standard point-to-point Ethernet link. For example, transport of time critical traffic like T1, E1, DS3, E3, POTS, ISDN and Management over a 100 or 1000 Mbps optical Ethernet link is possible. EthernetPlus provides a “private channel” for TDM flow, outside of the Ethernet data path. The technology does not require TDM packetization, prioritization or use of Ethernet data bandwidth. The EthernetPlus chip creates an independent transparent circuit over the Ethernet link for the TDM traffic, while the physical link appears as a 100Mbps or 1Gbps Ethernet line, using standard Ethernet transceivers.
